Monaghan Foodbank was started and setup by the congregation of Monaghan Elim Church and through the generous donations of the congregation we opened our doors in June 2014.

There are many families that go hungry every day and it is with this in mind that Monaghan Foodbank aim to temporarily help those in need.

Food vouchers will be handed out to organisations such as ISPCC, health nurses and doctors.

These organisations then hand out these food vouchers to people they feel need the most help. Food parcels are then given out when a food voucher is handed in or in extreme cases a food parcel can be handed out without a voucher.

Food parcels are made up according to the size of a family with about 4 days non-perishable food products to enable them to make basic meals. It is hoped that in helping with some food that this would relieve their financial burden and enable them to find their footing again.

The Foodbank is dependent on the support of the local community and shops around the Monaghan area in order to continue its work. Donations of non-persishable items from the list below are always welcome to keep stocks replenished and can be placed in the trolley in the church foyer.
